Australia’s largest rail freight business QR National has signed a new haulage agreement with Anglo American Metallurgical Coal to haul coal from the Capcoal Mining Complex to the Port of Gladstone.
QR National Executive Vice President and CEO Coal Customers and Strategy Curtis Davies said QR National started railing in February under a new contract that will generate more than $120 million in revenue.
“The take or pay contract with Anglo American will see our trains move up to 2.7 million tonnes a year of coal from Anglo American's Capcoal Mining complex to the port of Gladstone,” Mr Davies said.
“QR National is pleased to execute this agreement with Anglo American which provides for haulage to Gladstone through to late 2014.”
