Aurizon, Australia’s largest rail-based transport business, has delivered good news to 23 community groups and charities as the latest successful recipients of its Community Giving Fund.
Managing Director & CEO Andrew Harding said Aurizon delivered more than products and commodities to the communities where it operates.
“In this round of our Community Giving Fund, we are pleased to help 23 very worthwhile charities across Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia and Victoria.
“Building collaborative partnerships with charities and community groups is important to us, and it helps support long-term solutions to some of the challenges faced in the community.”
Mr Harding said he was pleased to see a strong volume of applications from across the Company’s national footprint and encouraged eligible community groups to apply when the next Community Giving Fund round opens in September.
Since 2011, Aurizon’s Community Giving Fund has supported approximately 265 charities and not-for-profits across the country to help improve the education, community safety, environment, and health and wellbeing of our communities. Recipients of Aurizon’s “Cyclone Debbie” special round of the Community Giving Fund will be announced soon.
