Aurizon has welcomed the positive vote by employees on the proposed Aurizon NSW Coal Operations Enterprise Agreement 2014. The ballot ran from 17 - 24 April 2014.
In accordance with the Fair Work Act 2009, Aurizon will formally lodge the agreement for approval with the Fair Work Commission.
The Aurizon NSW Coal Operations Enterprise Agreement 2014 will come into effect seven days from approval by the Fair Work Commission.
The result of the bargaining process represents a fair agreement, with appropriate rostering and workplace flexibility, to contribute to the continued success of the NSW Coal Operation.
It is a four year agreement, nominally commencing 1 April 2014, providing for 12 % increase over three years and a reduction in hours in the fourth year. It also includes a one-off $2000 payment upon certification of agreement. Key elements:
1 April 2014 – 4% wage increase plus $2000 one-off bonus paid upon certification plus reduction in hours to 160 hours as soon as practicable (but no more than
28 days) after commencement of the agreement
1 April 2015 – 4% wage increase
1 April 2016 – 4% wage increase
In fourth year, from 1 April 2017 - reduction in hours to 152 hours, with reasonable overtime
Maintenance of roster flexibility including flexibility around shift change provisions and lift up/lay back on the day of operation.
