A new campaign has been launched to position QR National as a truly national company, ahead of its planned listing later this year.
Managing Director & CEO Lance Hockridge said the campaign was set to position QR National for its future as a nationally significant player.
“The purpose of this campaign is to promote the QR National brand nationally and emphasise its status as an independent company following the separation of coal and freight operations from passenger operations on 1 July,” Mr Hockridge said.
“With the initial public offer of QR National scheduled to proceed in the last quarter of 2010 it is important that potential investors appreciate the breadth and scope of our activities and our fundamental role in Australia’s economy.
“Each year we move billions of dollars of Australian exports to port including the majority of Australia’s coal exports.
“The underlying message is that QR National really is ‘moving a nation’.”
Mr Hockridge said the advertisements would start screening in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne and in regional Queensland and regional Western Australia today (Sunday, August 1).
He said the six week campaign started about two weeks ago with newspaper advertising in the same locations and would continue with billboard, bus shelters and online advertising.
