Aurizon’s Mt Isa team is looking for a skilled Loader Operator to join the team on a full-time permanent basis. The primary focus of this role will be loader operations, with the opportunity to operate heavy vehicles when required. A current HC licence is preferred and reach stacker training/upskilling will be provided for the right candidate.

Remuneration/Benefit:

  • Local based residents can access an attractive hourly rate plus location allowance, with roster flexibility available by agreement.

About the role:

  • Safely operate loaders as the primary function of the role, supporting site operations across the Mount Isa area.
  • Operate heavy vehicles, including HC combinations with tipping skel trailers, when required.
  • Support loading and unloading of containerised product, with upskilling provided for reach stacker operations.
  • Complete all tasks safely and in line with Aurizon’s policies, procedures and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, fatigue, heavy vehicle operating guide lines, loading requirements, axle weights and adhering to vehicle specific permits.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a high degree of professionalism.
  • Reporting of risks and hazards in the working environment.
  • Ongoing training and development available.

 About you:

  • Loader operating experience and confidence working around mobile plant and heavy equipment.
  • A current HC licence and heavy vehicle experience are preferred, with the ability to operate heavy vehicles when required.
  • Reach stacker experience is highly regarded but not essential, as Aurizon will provide training and upskilling for the right candidate.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to complete paperwork such as pre-starts on vehicles, defect reports and other various reporting.
  • Have a strong work ethic, be reliable and punctual.
  • Pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
  • Supply full driving history.
  • Sound knowledge of fatigue management and work diary requirements.
