About the role:

Aurizon’s Antiene (Muswellbrook) depot is seeking expressions of interest from safety focused, enthusiastic applicants who would like to commence a career in the rail industry!  These positions are entry level roles which will give candidates exposure to the rail operations and will lead to qualified mainline driver roles for individuals that display our values and behaviours.  Most of our trainees will be qualified mainline drivers within 10-12 months.

To excel in this position, you will relish to opportunity to learn new skills and put into practice what you are taught in the classroom.

  • 24x7 rotating shift roster 365 days a year including nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Apply theoretical knowledge from training to practical operation
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
  • Safely operate motor vehicles.
  • Follow procedures to operate equipment to load/unload trains in a safe & timely manner
  • Inspect and report faults on all relevant equipment by undertaking procedural checks
  • Complete general labouring/admin duties to support efficient operation.

 About you: 

  • All-encompassing focus on safety along with great interpersonal skills
  • Superior team-work skills
  • Hold a valid open driver’s license
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work a rotating shift roster including early starts, nights, weekends & public holiday.
