About the role: 

Keep operations moving and support a strong team culture. 

We’re looking for a motivated and organised Shift Coordinator to join our Dry Creek team in Adelaide. This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to stay calm and focused in a dynamic operational environment. 

You’ll be the go-to person during your shift—coordinating daily yard and crew activities, supporting Locomotive Drivers and Rail Operators, and helping ensure everything runs safely and efficiently. This position operates on a rotating 24/7 roster (7 shifts across a 14-day period). 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Providing direction and support to train crew throughout each shift 
  • Coordinating day-to-day yard operations and responding to changing priorities 
  • Monitoring safety, performance, and service delivery 
  • Communicating with internal teams and customers to keep things on track 
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures and operational requirements 

About you:  

You’re someone who brings a positive, can-do attitude and a practical approach to getting things done. You’re organised, adaptable, and confident juggling shifting priorities while keeping safety and teamwork front of mind.  

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate: 

  • A collaborative working style with a strong commitment to safety 
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication 
  • Strong computer literacy and ability to pick up new systems quickly  
  • A solution-focused mindset and willingness to tackle challenges as they arise 
  • Flexibility and openness to change, with an active interest in improving how things are done 
  • Ideally, 3–5 years' experience in a similar operational or coordination role (though we’re open to transferable experience)
