Safety Analyst

About the role: Aurizon is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Safety Analyst to join our Safety team in Brisbane. In this role, you’ll support a range of safety initiatives through analytics, documentation, and improvement planning to help ensure a safe and compliant work environment across our national operations.
- Provide analytical support to maintain and improve the quality and integrity of safety data.
- Produce regular safety performance reports using appropriate data and analytics tools.
- Support the review and updating of Safety Management System (SMS) documentation to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory standards.
- Contribute to site-based and detailed safety activities aligned with the safety strategy and business plans.
- Assist in the design and execution of enterprise-wide safety improvement initiatives.
- Support risk and assurance functions.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders across the Safety function to deliver key services and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
About you:
- 1–2 years of post-graduate experience in an analyst or safety-related role.
- Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and relevant legislative frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
- Effective time management and the ability to handle competing priorities.
